Hong Kong
If you’ve been wondering where i disappeared to this entire week, now you know. I was away in Hong Kong with Fadhil and Konrad. It was quite fun albeit the few annoyances. Fad and Kon had a mini cold war for one night because Kon couldn’t stand how Fad likes to walk in a zig-zag manner. I quarrelled with Fad on the day we were leaving Hong Kong because he misplaced his Octopus card. The weather was cool like perpetual air-conditioning and their public transport is so much better than ours. It’s a really vibrant city, but there are downsides too. Their residential buildings look dilapidated and crammed and the air is polluted. However, they also have extremely wealthy people living around The Peak and Repulse Bay area who drive luxurious cars. I think almost the whole of Singapore went to HK for holiday this year because everywhere we went, we encountered Singaporeans. As you might know, Fadhil is muslim and Hong Kong has hardly any halal food, so he ended up bringing loads of cup noodles, instant campbell soup, nutella and other edibles. Poor soul. The first day we went around the Kowloon area and shopped. I spent about S$1000 my whole time in HK (excludes hotel and air tickets). I don’t have any photos of the first day’s shopping excursion, but I have a huge collection of other photos.
Poor guy eating the fried rice his mum cooked for him.

On the second day, we decided to travel by train down to Tung Chung to visit the giant Buddha and to shop at the factory outlets.

We took the cable car and I attempted to pole dance.

As you can see, we were a little whacko. Haha. Look at the television screen and you’ll see Korean words. That crazy Fad was watching KBSWorld everynight in the hotel room.

We played Uno too.

On the third day, we went to Disneyland!!!
The rides were rather childish though and the park was rather small. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves.

Kon’s taking charge of the wheel.

We posed with Buzz Lightyear!

This sleeping beauty castle was really short and miniature.

This was the first time I saw a real Chinese junk.
The 8pm laser show at the Avenue of Stars.

A couple of lazy pigs.
We went to Hong Kong island the next day. We took the mid-level escalator up to the halfway point of The Peak.

I can’t remember which idiot suggested that we walk up the peak instead of taking a cab or the tram. There were so many steep slopes that were super exhausting to ascend.

It was cold on the peak.
The view from the top.
Bruce Lee at Madame Tussauds.

I met Sijie and Sihan at the peak. There were EA games to play for free. We spent about an hour playing Spore.
Some Christmas decorations at IFC mall.

The magnificent Bank of China tower and some other building.

The HSBC building.

On our last day, we went to Festival Walk (a shopping centre) at Kowloon Tong.

That’s all I’m willing to upload. Now I’m back in Singapore and I’m dreading the humid weather. I hope all you JC guys enjoy yourselves before you end up in that shithole!
